3d printing (laser sintering) of steel
An additive manufacturing layer technology, SLS involves the use of a high power laser to fuse small particles of steel powder into a mass that has a desired three-dimensional shape. The laser selectively fuses powdered material by scanning cross-sections generated from a 3-D digital description of the part on the surface of a powder bed. After each cross-section is scanned, the powder bed is lowered by one layer thickness, a new layer of material is applied on top, and the process is repeated until the part is completed.
This method is the only one to build undercuts or hidden cavities such as the hollow FREUTOY or its capsuled key system in the outer element. Casting or CNC milling is not able to realize the needed shape.
Why this expensive procedure for the FREUTOY?
The sex toy market is flooded with cheap garbage. But that is not our world. We decided to produce a product that has outstanding quality and properties in all respects. In order to meet this requirement, the idea of 'as cheap as possible' was removed from our considerations during product development.
With the FREUTOY we went this way to the end and we are happy to have customers who share this attitude of perfection!
